Altered Fun and a Tutorial!

As usual I was thinking ahead...some birthdays coming up for my fantastic nieces. I try to make something homemade for them each year. So here we go...

I did a little tutorial using Sakura Crystal Lacquer and  Terri Sprouls Mixer's. I altered this pressed paper A that I found at the dollar spot in Target.

This is for my dear niece Adrienne. Here are a few details...

and a little bit more...

This is a super cute and really easy embellishment to make. Use an empty bottle cap.

By mixing both the 3D Crystal Lacquer and Terri Sprouls Mixer you can get a great look.

This is so easy, after mixing them I then used a popsicle stick to spoon the mixture into the bottle cap. I also used a little of the left over mixture to paint on the edges for a little pop!

Now I added my letter A and sprinkled a little glitter and a few micro beads for some added details.

I let it sit over night to harden and it really is a fun and unique embellishment!

One of my other nieces birthday's is coming up and I made her a embellished tin that I plan on putting a gift card in.

Do yo love that sheen that the Crystal Lacquer adds to the project...and it hold everything.

Those micro beads will not fall off for anything!

I hope this makes you want to dig in and create some fun projects for someone you love!

Want2Scrap, Graphic 45, and Art Glitter Blog Hop!

Want2Scrap is teaming up this week to bring you tons of inspiration using Want2ScrapGraphic 45, and Art Glitter !

After you check out my project head to the Want2ScrapGraphic 45,  and Art Glitter blogs.

It has been such a quick summer, it is half over and all I hear is back to school. I  have not had to time to catch up with a dear friend  and her darling little guy. So since I was thinking about them I decided to make a canvas for her new son Max. Proof that they have been on my mind...and after this post is done...I am going call and set up a lunch date.

These canvases are now my favorite projects to make!

Of course I also had to dig into some of the new CHA Summer Releases.  These Chipboard Angel Wings are one of my new favorites.

I used Clearsnap Smootch to paint some of the wooden stars. The Art Institute Glitter was perfect. I used it to great tri-dots all around the canvas. I also added it to the Mod Podge for a hint of sparkle throughout the canvas.

Of course the perfect base for all of these fun products were the gorgeous papers from Graphic 45. The Little Darlings release was absolutely perfect for this and gorgeous to boot!

Now you need to pop on over to Keely Yowler's Blog and see the fabulous creations she has to share! Remember, do forget to stop at the manufacturer blogs too!

Want2Scrap Flower Tutorial - Art Journal

I am new to the art journaling world, but loving it none the less. I have been so inspired by working with the super talented Christy Tomlinson. She has inspired me to try something new, and an art journal is just that. The world of mixed media is so huge that you can't help but have fun and get messy! I decided to add a ton of fun Want2Scrap goodies to this set of pages!

Digging my fingers into paint and inks can be so therapeutic. I have got to tell you how much I am loving our cross promotional paints from Eco Green Crafts.

To create this fantastic flower I first prepared my background. I then held the clear backing over the page where I wanted to place my flower and with pencil just lightly drew the shape.

I  painted in my sketched design.

After the design dried I used a pen and loosely outlined the shapes. I then added the fantastic Pearl Flower.

Here is another view...

Look at these fun Chipboard Embellishments - Style D. They look great embellished with the Light Green Rhinestones - 72 Count.

I hope your now inspired to dig into your own paints...happy crafting!

Want2Scrap Message Board

One of the perks of playing with all wonderful goodies from Want2Scrap is also getting to play with the fun product from other manufacturers such as Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker. I am not newbie to Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker. I was proud to be on her DT for 2 1/2 years and it was especially fun for me to work with one of her fantastic new lines.

I decided to make a little message board for my kitchen.

I simply made the canvas and added 2 sizes of Post it Note pads to write the memos on. I created lots of texture by mixing paint from Eco Green Crafts and Light Modeling Paste. I used a craft stick and adhered it over a punchinella mask.

Now the 72 Count Brown Rhinestones and the LeCreme Baby Pearls were the perfect center for each rub-on flower.

The Chipboard Embellishments - Style C were easy to dress up with spray ink, paint and pearls. I also added the Finesse LeCreme Pearls Swirls
