Scrapping outside the box and a card!

I am what I consider a layout girl. I tinker with cards and other projects but layouts are my project of choice most of the time. Then Nikki told me about this company Traditions Studios. I ended up designing a few classes for them using Nikki's fab products and now I think I caught the bug to scrapping outside the layout box.

They sent me this adorable snow globe that would be so fun to sit on any desk! Great grandparent gift too! I used lots of Willow Bee including the new stamps...how fun!

I also made this utility cup...using the bright and colorful Flaming Butterfly line.

We all know Nikki makes tons of fun chipboard mini's. I really had not done a mini in quite a long time. I had so much fun making this that I know I will be doing more in the very near future!

I loved the Dan the Record Man line immediately! These colors are so great! I used this line and her tag mini to create this album that I recorded some of my favorite photos in. I loved the play on works with record and record!

I kept the same format for each page...it makes for a great clean look!

I covered all the top pages with black cardstock and a strip of pattern paper. I then added just a touch of doodling with a white pen.

The backs were done with white and doodled with black. Each page I made a small journaling spot with pattern paper to record a few details about the photo.

I also wanted to share with you this card. I made with Pebbles AC goodies. I absloutely love these fun colors...

Rumor has it I have another great big box of GCD Studios on it's way to my house...how fun! The Home Shopping Network has the new "TOOL" so snag it here for a fabulous price! You can not help but fall in love with it once you have it in your hands!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Spring has sprung and a LO!

Spring is finally here and I could not be more excited! The trees are blooming...

I saw a few of my crocus's poking through the mulch. The weekend was beautiful and my hubby took full advantage of it planting seeds, pruning the apple tree and potting some blueberry bushes. Jack had his first riding lesson of the season and took off jumping.

It did not take him long to get right back to it and he was all smiles!

And determined!

This weekend was also Nick's opening soccer game. The boys were so excited because they got to play on the local high school full- size turf field under the lights! Even better they beat the other team 6-0...great way to start off the season! I did not get any good shots but I am hoping that will change...my night photography skills are not the greatest!

I am starting a photography class in just a few weeks at a local college...since I did not have any great photos of the game I will share a soccer LO I did recently.

Check out the acrylic star by Want2Scrap. I am becoming addicted to their embellishments!

Jack has decided to give lacrosse a try this season...so I have a new sport to learn. He looks so cute all dressed up in all his protective gear. I will need to take a picture soon. The fact that they hit each other with sticks has me a bit nervous but he seems to love it so I will have to learn to deal with it. LOL!

Over on the Pebbles Blog they have posted a fun challenge! Be sure to check it out...a Pebbles prize pack is up for grabs so it is a great time to scrap some of those spring photos.

GCD Studios posted a great video of Melody Ross using the new Chipart...check it out here.

I will have LOTS of projects to post later this week using Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker and Traditions Studio. Of course we all know Nikki but Traditions Studio is a fun "outside the box" scrapbooking company. They have great gift ideas too!

I just got a sneak peak of Marks Paper Company's newest digital kit! It will be released next week on 2peas...a must have for sure! Stacy has also added some fabulous new designers to the team! A very big welcome to you all...

Acrylic Sheets and Pearl Bling!

I love acrylic...yep, I will say it again. I love acrylic! When I received this fun acrylic sheet fromWant2Scrap I knew I wanted to make some sort of home decor sign, but was not sure what...since we had about 4 feet of snow in February...it became a winter sign.

To heat emboss acrylic is not tough. You just have to pay attention and be sure that you don't over heat it so it warps. Want2Scrap has thick, quality acrylic so it worked like a charm. I simply used a watermark pad and ran it around the edges. Sprinkled on the embossing powder and heated it. I love the snowy winter look this added to my sign. Here is a close up of the edge.

Here are a few of the products I used on this project...

To dress up my flowers I added Stickles, glitter, micro-beads, spray ink and crushed glass...so much better than just plain flowers, don't you think?

Here is a close up of the flowers...

To simulate snow, I added lots of Want2Scrap pearl bling in 2 sizes as well as tri-dots of Stickles to add a little winter detail.

I received an amazing box from GCDStudios. Be sure to check out all the Chip Art products ...they are not only gorgeous but inspiring! Check the blog starting April 1st for lots of inspiration using the new lines and products!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
