Want2Scrap and Authentique Blog Hop!

Big fun today, check out the Want2Scrap and Authentique Blog Hop! Each day this week check out the  Want2Scrap Blog and Authentique Paper Blog for tons of inspiration and a chance at a prize pack!

For the hop I created this Shadow Box Altered Frame, this line of paper is fantastic for any project with a few cute little boys like this!

Check out the Fancy Chipboard - Brothers, I painted it with some black gesso and dry brushed it with a blue glaze. The bling and pearls add some nice detail.

Of course you can not have too much bling and the Nestabling Classic Diamond Silver Rhinestone are fabulous. I always have to add my favorite Want2Scrap product to every project...Chevron Borders!

Hope you all are filled with inspiration and a little bit of eye candy! Hop away!

Nestabling Stars Layout!

Hi All! If you know me, then you know I am extremely close with my neices and this layout is dedicated to my niece Samantha!

Spring is in the air and in our family that means soccer and softball season. I created this layout using the Authentique Strong Collection. I love that this collection of paper is meant as a collection geared toward the masculine design but I fiddled with that idea and created this layout about my niece. I think it works perfectly and it really makes the fantastic Vintage Fancy Frames Silhouettes pop. They are just so intricate and create so much interest.

I am extremely proud of my niece Samantha! She has worked so hard in both school and on the softball field. She worked hard enough to earn herself a scholarship at a Division 1 University as a pitcher, her top choice school to boot! A little bit of 3 in 1 Craft Adhesive by Beacon was just enough to tack down my journaling and tell her story.

I used the Nestaboard Stars Five for my stars. Using the same Spellbinders die to cut the paper, makes it super easy! I topped it off with the  Nestabling Silver Stars and a touch of Clearsnap Ink. A few of the Steel Blue Pearls are the perfect accent.

Hope you all enjoy this last day of April!

A Fun New Way to use Sleek Pearl Strips!

Happy Easter Everyone, I hope you enjoy this wonderful day with those that you love!

I just wanted to share with you on this sweet day a new way I have found to use the Sleek Pearl Strips. I love to make my own handmade flowers. With a little hot glue, ink, and pattern paper you can make gorgeous flowers. I always like to dress them up with a little glitter and bling from Want2Scrap©. I did just that on this altered tin.

I altered this tin for one of my nieces. After I made this flower I wrapped 2 different strips of pearls around the edges and dusted it with some glitter.

What a great little touch to really dress up this tin.

I added a cluster of flowers and dropped in some Coral Pearls, such a pretty way to add a little dimension and interest.

I cut a single bloom from the Rose Ribbon and it created a nice feathery look to highlight the flower and pearl cluster.

Chevron Border Rock!

Hi All, It has been a while since I posted. I am in the process of a home renovation and it had thrown everything out of whack. I am also in the process of trying to find new photo editing software I am happy with and I am not thrilled with any so far. Bear with me during my learning curve. I have not done a layout it AGES! I almost felt like I had forgotten how to scrapbook a page...it felt good to remember! I dug into my photos and pulled out one of my favorites and just went to town.

I set a few rules for myself in designing this layout. I only allowed myself to use the products I had sitting on my desk...thank goodness I never got around to putting my paper away last time I played. I love the fun mix of patterned papers I used. A splatter of spray ink on the background also added some pops of color.

One of my favorite things about Want2Scrap is how easy their product make it to dress something up. I dressed up a doily sticker here with a fun bling circle...immediate POP! You have to check out these Nestabling Circles.

I LOVE the chevron trend. I have totally fallen for it and these Chevron Bling Borders are my favorite product. I just ordered a bunch more...I need my bling and I need my chevron. Perfect together!

I mean seriously, how cool is that!

Mixed Media and Altered Fun!

I am back with three fun projects for you this month...I felt the need to get my craft on! First off is a new page in my art journal.

Heart Art Journal

I was feeling the love this week with both my birthday and Valentine's Day this week so I thought I would make a memory page of it.

Heart Art Journal 1

Bling hearts and borders really do the trick highlighting the edges of this heart!

Heart Art Journal 2

I also made my first She Art Girl! If you have not taken Christy Tomlinson She Art Class you are really missing out. I had taken it but never actually made a girl. It was my nieces birthday a few weeks again so I made her this to hang in her room. My sister loved it so much she confiscated it for the family room and now wants one of each of her daughters...you will see those one of these days.

She Art Livi

I love that there are so many details in this. Talk about fun to make.

She Art Livi 2

I seriously love all the texture that can be created on a canvas.

She Art Livi 3JPG

Lastly a little bonus project...and a trick to make it simple. I was cleaning out my scrap area and came across so favorite products I had not used in so long so I decided to make this quick photo holder out of a giant cloths pin.

Clothes Pin 3

Here is a little hint. Painting these clothespins can be a bit of a pain, messy and hard to get certain parts. These tints make it super easy. Check this out...

Ink

The top is a sponge and it makes it so easy to stain something. For the little cracks just rub a paintbrush over the top of the ink dispenser and paint in the small area. This took me about 5 minutes,  easy peasy!

Clothes Pin

I have a ton of these little labels and the Want2Scrap Circles fit perfectly over them. What a great way to add a bold color.

Clothes Pin 2

Hope you have a little creating time today!

Dressing up a Dollar Store Find and a Canvas!

Canvases seem to be my project of choice these days...they make me feel like an artist, they are "usable" in that you can hang them up and in this case they make the perfect gift. One of my dear friends birthday's is this month and she is going to be starting a cafe soon. I decided to make her a canvas for her soon to be cafe.

It is a large 12x12 canvas. I cut out the mug by hand and then added lot of texture and definition. A Sleek Strip of Bling is the perfect touch.

I sprinkled Baby Bling White Pearls in the coffee foam...almost looks real. Light modeling paste mixed with paint really added texture and it gave a delish look!

These great Classy Corners really finish off the canvas.

A few tri-dots of Baby LeCreme Pearls accented the title.

I also picked up this cute envelope holder at the dollar store... cute, but could be cuter.

Now with just a few products, we could dress this up for sure!

This is so much cuter, don't you think?

Up close and personal...

I am much happier having this sit on my desk.
