BYOB Bling in my Art Journal!

Hi All! Summer is in full swing in my home and I love it. Kids are home, I am chauffeuring them about and we are having fun each day. Of course summer I am wearing lots of hats with the kids home all the time so I decided to do an art journal page to share that.

When I was going through my stash I came across one of those fun Want2Scrap products I never used before...I don't know how that happened but I am so glad I decided to play with the BYOB Bling. I mean, how cool is it that all these great shapes are already made for you, it is just a matter of adding them to your project!

I did that by adding a new page to my art journal!

I decided to do a page showing the many hats I wear. I wanted to create a grid design and the perfect way to highlight the grids is pulling out lots of strips of bling and pearls. The different sizes of strips and different textures of rhinestones and pearls create a nice effect.

After I had my grid design I added a flower with a fantastic center from Buttons Galore

The BYOB Bling made it so easy to dress up my flower and the Pink Rhinestone is the perfect way to highlight the center of my button. If you have not tried the BYOB bling, dig in you will really love the versatility of it.

A New Twist on Want2Scrap Mardi Gras Bling!

Hello Everyone! Summer is in full swing and I rarely get into my studio to play. Bummer!  I did force myself to find the time and it made me feel so good to play. Okay, so we all know I love my bling and my borders. I just wanted to show you how versatile they can be...

DSC_0233-001

Bet you did not know all those leaves and the strip at the top are all from just one piece...JUST ONE PIECE of Nina Brackett's Mardi Gras Borders. I cut apart the different pieces to outline the leaves on my clipboard. A touch of ink and black pen really adds a little pizzazz.

DSC_0239-001

My nieces Taylor loves her bling as much a me so I know she will just love this decked out clipboard...a little bling can totally make homework a little more fun!

DSC_0237-001

I used a stamp I picked up on clearance to create the flower border...I went with a monochromatic blue look. I still can't seem to put that Authentique paper down!

DSC_0236-001

In the center of each flower I used lots of rhinestones and pearls...but a new go to for me are the Mother of Pearl 72 Count Rhinestones...they looks awesome! They are not like any other gem I have seen, very cool! It is also subtle but to create the background, I used the Brick Stencil. I am a sucker for a cool stencil and this definitely qualifies as cool!

I hope you are all enjoying your summer!

Want2Scrap Pearl Strips Highlighting Altered Notepads!

Hi, I am back again! I am a note taker and  a list maker...yep, all of the above. So I figured why not make my note taking a little more blinged out!

DSC_0022-001

I bought a bunch of 5x7 notepads and altered the header of each. The Pearl Strips were the perfect accent to add to them. They make a project super cute and super easy. The Strong Collection by Authentique Paper is one of my new favorites and I scraped together some scraps to top them off. The pre-cut circles are the perfect size and great to layer.

DSC_0026-001

I always like to fit in some of the Chevron Bling Borders and 72 Count Pearls always end up on all my projects. I love the touch of white glitter around the circles.

A few fun family rub-ons make this one of those both fun and functional projects you will get to look at each day!

Want2Scrap Fancy Chipboard Word Art Journal Page!

Hey Everyone, I can feel the summer right around the corner and I can't wait to have my kids home each day! At least I say that now, he he! If your like me,  a busy mom trying to stay on top of everything and rarely getting time to do anything for yourself it is nice every now and then to sit down and do something creative. I only get a few hours a month in my studio but I make it count and I love to get my hands messy! I decided to do an art journal page dedicated to ME!

DSC_0006-001

I love the  new Fancy Chipboard Words and since my name happens to be a common nickname, woo hoo I get to make a page after my own heart. Better yet if you want a custom word or name made, you can do that too!

DSC_0009-001

I first added gesso and then used spray ink. I touched it off with some glitter...fun!

DSC_0013-001

If you have not used the new stencil, now is the time to try them. At only $1.99 each, they can not be beat. I love the Arrow Stencils, how fun this is. After creating my background I used the stencil and dabbed on paint with a make-up pad. After drying I used a pen to outline each arrow.

DSC_0011-001

I used the Classy Corner in the Grace pattern. I also added some Purple Rhinestones alternated with glitter over my ink drips.

Nestabling Stars Layout!

Hi All! If you know me, then you know I am extremely close with my neices and this layout is dedicated to my niece Samantha!

Spring is in the air and in our family that means soccer and softball season. I created this layout using the Authentique Strong Collection. I love that this collection of paper is meant as a collection geared toward the masculine design but I fiddled with that idea and created this layout about my niece. I think it works perfectly and it really makes the fantastic Vintage Fancy Frames Silhouettes pop. They are just so intricate and create so much interest.
DSC_0898-001

I am extremely proud of my niece Samantha! She has worked so hard in both school and on the softball field. She worked hard enough to earn herself a scholarship at a Division 1 University as a pitcher, her top choice school to boot! A little bit of 3 in 1 Craft Adhesive by Beacon was just enough to tack down my journaling and tell her story.

DSC_0905-001

I used the Nestaboard Stars Five for my stars. Using the same Spellbinders die to cut the paper, makes it super easy! I topped it off with the  Nestabling Silver Stars and a touch of Clearsnap Ink. A few of the Steel Blue Pearls are the perfect accent.

Hope you all enjoy this last day of April!
