Want2Scrap: How to make a Snow Flake

I love adding a touch of "homemade" to a store bought gift! A fun altered box for a gift card or a great holiday tag on a bottle of wine...it is always nice to let the recipient know you put a little time into their gift. I made a few fun snowflakes for this holiday tag and wanted to share with you how I did them.

First gather your supplies:

Next, paint your chipboard snowflakes and allow them to dry.

Next, add your Want2Scrap™ bling.

Now add a good layer of a strong adhesive. Beacon's 3-in-1 works great!

Finally add some glitter or crushed glass and allow to dry.

What a great way to add a little sparkle to your gift.

And a few details...

I hope you all have a wonderful holiday filled with lots of love and sparkle!

Scarlet Lime, Looking Forward...

These beautiful kits and all the goodies from the Mixed Media Shop certainly put me in the holiday spirit. The December Main Kit has me digging into these gorgeous papers and I scrapped my favorite picture of the holiday season so far. I took this photo at Longwood Gardens and just loved it. The sun shining into the conservatory hit the tree perfectly for a gorgeous photo.

I also had to make a card...I mean it is the Christmas season...

The December Frugal Fab Kit is just fun! I used a picture of my guys...my sunshine...in this layout. I also used some goodies from the store like Liquitex Inks and Distressed Ink Pads. Lets not forget the Crafters Workshop Templates or the Faber-Castell India Ink Pens. They work perfectly with these kits.

I made this tag...I think this just may go on a gift this holiday season...

Don't you just love that Unity Stamp? All these things really have me looking forward to the holiday and the new year! I hope you feel the same way!

Distress, no mess! Happy Thanksgiving!

It looks like another "get your hands messy" kind of day! I decided to create this tag to add to the planter that will sit at my Thanksgiving table using lots of Want2Scrap™ products .

A few details...

This is what you will need:
Distress ink or stains
Spray ink
Paint
Faber-Castrell Gelatos
Tag, water, paintbrush

I started off staining both the cardboard and Nestaboard™

Now add a little paint to the edges and crevices...you can use a brush or just a finger.

Now used distress inks to distress the edges of your materials.

Use the spray inks to distress your tag.

Color the envelope with gelatos and add a little water to them to spread. It brings on a water color type of look.

Hope you are enjoying your holiday and find time to get a little messy yourself!

Nikki Sivils holiday fun and check out this months GDT!

Tis the season for making holiday gifts...loving it...I must say I can not believe it is that time already! For Jack's teacher this year I decided to make a perpetual calendar but wanted it to be used year round and not just for the holidays. I used the School is Cool line and think this will be perfect for any teacher...what do you think?

Here are a few details...

I picked up this cute little tin at the Target Dollar Spot...got to love that. It worked perfectly with the Gingerbread Land line! I plan on filling it with some fun bath and body goodies like lip glosses, lotions, and a gift card...my niece will love this!

Be sure to check out the Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker blog today! The GDT this month is Suzy West and she put some fantastic projects up for the month! Stop by and check it out...

Just a little rant...I got a new computer and can not figure out the code to add links now...so check out my side bar to get the links, sorry...hope to figure out why it is not working soon. If anyone has any words of wisdom I would love to hear them!

Want2Scrap New Album...Fun!

Want2Scrap has some great new albums and I totally fell in love with this Old Phone Album. I embellished it with lots of bling and some Nestaboard™. They work so well with the die cuts Labels Fourteen Spellbinders.

How cute is this?

It was perfect to do an album about how my family loves their phones...

It surprised my how I quickly took to this phone I really didn't want...

Of course every teen is attached to their phone, thank goodness the novelty of a phone wore off for Nick quickly...he always has it with him but uses it mostly to call me, his personal taxi, lol!

Poor Jack...still suffering without a phone. My rule about the phone, you don't get one till you actually need it. Sorry buddy, the summer before Junior High.
