Mimi Leinbach: March Simple Layouts...Back to my Roots

I love that I am trying new things creatively...slowly making my way in the world of mixed media. Digging in and getting messy but every now and again you need to visit your roots. I did that this month with the March Frugal Fab Kit at Scarlet Lime. I don't do nearly the amount of layouts I used to do but it was really nice to return to my roots.

6 Snow People
I dug into some of my pictures and found this picture of a family ski trip. The colors were perfect for this kit.

And a few more details...

My second layout is of our dear friends. They are my sons second family and for Christmas this past year I did a photo shoot with the all the "men" in the family.

4 men...almost

The colors in this kit are perfect for Spring.

Thanks so much for popping by to check out the kits, be sure to check back soon. I went mixed media to the max on the March Main Kit.

Want2Scrap has these fun new tags and since Easter is just around the corner I created some fun and pretty tags to pop in the baskets. Here is a list of the main materials I used...with each new tag I added more colors of paint, bling and embellishments, but the base of each tag was created in the same way.

I first sprayed each tag with spray ink.

After it dries I use a mask or template and add a little paint.

Now it is time for embellishments...both bling butterflies, chipboard embellishments , or rose ribbons work equally as well. Of course for the chipboard we got to add a little extra paint fun!

Then for a finished look add stamps, more paint for the edges, rub-ons, bling and pearls of various colors...they add the pop that says "Spring has Sprung"!

How about all these pretty spring colors!

I hope this inspires you to did into your crafts and create for the season!

Want2Scrap Chipboard Dress Form...love!

Have you seen Want2Scrap's new Chipboard Dress Form? I decided I had to alter this and after I was done...I made a fun, and pretty big card/invite for a friend.

I decided to use Gesso on the base and then added a layer of Plum Walnut Ink. I painted the top layer of the form with black paint and then used spray ink to add some shimmer.

I tied on some tulle and added one of Want2Scraps Hot Pink 1" Roses.

Then I adding the new Nestabling Decorative Dress Form . I also added a touch of Fancy Waves Bling Border

After my altered dress form was done I framed it with cardstock and added my sentiment.

Mimi Leinbach: Another Set of Art Journaling Pages

The February Frugal Fab Kit from Scarlet Lime is so pretty. I just love the beach themed products and considering the beach is one of my favorite places in the world I ran with that idea.

Mimi_Feb FF_Art Journal

Since I am seriously into my Art Journal...this seemed like the perfect time to celebrate my love of the beach.

This fantastic bling seahorse was my inspiration for the pages.

Between the stamp, bling words, and my fab Scarlet Lime Pen I said everything I needed to say.

Scarlet Lime February Main...Loves!

Our month of love is wearing down, but at least we have an extra day this leap year! Just because this month is almost over doesn't mean we can't talk about those things we love everyday. I LOVE the Main Kit this month. It is not my typical color pallet that I usually work with but maybe that is why I enjoyed it so much!
One of my new loves, art journaling...

Scarlet_FebMain_Art Journal

One of the reasons I am loving my art journal so much is the freedom it allows. I use products I would never use on layouts or cards...modeling paste and fun stamps.

I also can not seem to get enough of the Crafters Workshop Stencils.

If you don't have one the Scarlet Lime Pen it is a must have. I find myself using it on EVERYTHING!
Since we are talking about love, it is one of those things we should share with those we love each day...so my kiddo's will each be getting one of these...just because!

I actually made this cute little box, using the packaging from Scarlet Lime Bead Art. I love the watches and the cute little boxes they come in a ton!

A New Want2Scrap Layout!

I have not done much "scrapping" for the last several months, life has gotten in the way. My kids are older and I spend tons of time running them around and watching them in their events. I would not change that for the world...but I have really missed scrapping lately and decided to scrap a "pretty" layout using lots of Want2Scrap™ goodies. Nothing like these little pretties to get you inspired...

If you have not seen their new Rose Ribbons you really must, they come in just about every color and size. I just love this pink one.

In my opinion "you can have too much bling"! I used the both the Nestabling Pink Circle Rhinestones and the Nestabling Silver Circle Rhinestones. I topped that off with the gorgous Heart Rhinestone Ribbon Slide...gorgeous!

Another fun product to check out are the butterfly embellishments, so dang cute. This Orange Butterfly really highlighted the photo of my lotus flower bringing out the center color. Of course I can not do a layout without some sort of pearls and the Coral Pearls - 72 Count were the perfect center of my die cut butterflies.
