A New Want2Scrap Layout!

I have not done much "scrapping" for the last several months, life has gotten in the way. My kids are older and I spend tons of time running them around and watching them in their events. I would not change that for the world...but I have really missed scrapping lately and decided to scrap a "pretty" layout using lots of Want2Scrap™ goodies. Nothing like these little pretties to get you inspired...

If you have not seen their new Rose Ribbons you really must, they come in just about every color and size. I just love this pink one.

In my opinion "you can have too much bling"! I used the both the Nestabling Pink Circle Rhinestones and the Nestabling Silver Circle Rhinestones. I topped that off with the gorgous Heart Rhinestone Ribbon Slide...gorgeous!

Another fun product to check out are the butterfly embellishments, so dang cute. This Orange Butterfly really highlighted the photo of my lotus flower bringing out the center color. Of course I can not do a layout without some sort of pearls and the Coral Pearls - 72 Count were the perfect center of my die cut butterflies.

Mimi Leinbach: What's my style Scarlet Lime projects!

Welcome all! I hope you have had a great time following along with all the gals style project over at Scarlet Lime, I know I have.

I jumped into this months kits full force and wanted to share them with you. First off a layout of my boys with the main kit!

Mimi_Jan Main_Fun for All

This kit seriously suited my style with all these gorgeous colors and fantastic papers.

I definitely have a tendency to type my journaling and this layout is no different.

Now despite the fact that I consider myself a layout girl. The rest of my project this month are not layouts but altered projects. I guess that may be my new style...I created this tag for my gorgeous niece, Sam!

I love using inks on things now, so gorgeous. Don't you just love the sparkle.

Now the Frugal Kit is so eye catching you just can miss it! I recently lost my beloved pet, Lucy so I created this frame from the fun packaging the chipboard shapes came in. I pulled out this picture of her, it is one of my favorites!

I also decided to make a fun tag.

Mimi Leinbach: What's my style?

When I heard the challenge for this month, to name our style I went into a bit of panic mode. What is my style, hmmmm...I have a hard time saying I have a particular style. If you asked me this question 2 years ago, my answer would have been very different so this is what I narrowed it down to. Evolving! I sometimes create in a very simplistic and linear style.

I love color, the bolder and brighter the better! I have to say that in my mind, to much color is never enough.

My style has really changed quite a bit in the last year...I think we can blame Christy and the Mixed Media Store for that. She has inspired me to do things that I NEVER would have tried because I would have been scared to make a mistake. Now I know that a mistake may be just what a projects needs to make it special!

I started my first art journal...oh, how fun! I never was one to use many stamps. I always felt an image had to be just perfect for it to be right, boy was I wrong...there is not a single perfectly stamped image on these pages and I love it anyway. I have to say it is very freeing to feel that way when I create.

I even did my first canvas this year, so my art is sometimes off the page now! I made this canvas for one of my nieces. I must say they are very happy I ventured further into the mixed media world! They reap the rewards of getting my fingers dirty.

So what I know about my style is that it is what it is today...and may very well be something else tomorrow. And I just love that!

Welcome Little One for Want2Scrap!

One of my dear friends will soon be blessed with her first baby soon. I thought I would work ahead and make a card for when the little one comes.

I wanted it to be a cute, colorful card and not your traditional baby colors...I wanted it to have a fresh and fun feel to it.

These Silver Rhinestone Swirls by Want2Scrap™ are perfect for this. I love that they stick to just about anything...lace included. No extra glue was necessary!

Lets not forget the Silver Nestabling™ Circles. They are a great way to frame or highlight something! I love how they draw attention to the circle and the darling bicycle in it, so dang cute!

Want2Scrap: How to make a Snow Flake

I love adding a touch of "homemade" to a store bought gift! A fun altered box for a gift card or a great holiday tag on a bottle of wine...it is always nice to let the recipient know you put a little time into their gift. I made a few fun snowflakes for this holiday tag and wanted to share with you how I did them.

First gather your supplies:

Next, paint your chipboard snowflakes and allow them to dry.

Next, add your Want2Scrap™ bling.

Now add a good layer of a strong adhesive. Beacon's 3-in-1 works great!

Finally add some glitter or crushed glass and allow to dry.

What a great way to add a little sparkle to your gift.

And a few details...

I hope you all have a wonderful holiday filled with lots of love and sparkle!

Scarlet Lime, Looking Forward...

These beautiful kits and all the goodies from the Mixed Media Shop certainly put me in the holiday spirit. The December Main Kit has me digging into these gorgeous papers and I scrapped my favorite picture of the holiday season so far. I took this photo at Longwood Gardens and just loved it. The sun shining into the conservatory hit the tree perfectly for a gorgeous photo.

Mimi_Dec Main_Beauty

I also had to make a card...I mean it is the Christmas season...

Mimi_Dec Main_Joy Card

The December Frugal Fab Kit is just fun! I used a picture of my guys...my sunshine...in this layout. I also used some goodies from the store like Liquitex Inks and Distressed Ink Pads. Lets not forget the Crafters Workshop Templates or the Faber-Castell India Ink Pens. They work perfectly with these kits.

Mimi_Dec FF_Sunshine

I made this tag...I think this just may go on a gift this holiday season...

Don't you just love that Unity Stamp? All these things really have me looking forward to the holiday and the new year! I hope you feel the same way!
