Bling it on...

I seriously love bling. It's kind of funny too because I am a khaki and polo kind of girl certainly not a sequin one. I am all about natural and neutral when I dress and how I like to decorate in my home. When we are talking about scrapping though there is nothing like a little bling to make a page POP!

Check out some of the great varieties...what better way to create unique snowflakes on a snow layout than with all this great bling.

In this layout I used 5 different types of either gems or pearls from Want2Scrap. You can also see tons of other ways to use it on the blog.

I always love when I can fit some sort of recycling into a project and these cute felt snowflakes were a bag filler in a gift my boys got from their aunt for Christmas...gotta love that!

Hope you are all having a happy holiday season!

Want2Scrap Acrylic Mini

It has been a while since I have done an acrylic album. I was very excited to get a Lacrosse album in my DT package this month from Want2Scrap. You have to check out the store for all these yummy ribbons, and bits of bling. Is that not a fab brilliant blue?

Last year was the first year that our area had lacrosse for boys Jack's age and he was very excited to try it.

I just love how the pages are cut out of this album. I took a bit of black paint and outlined each letter so they stood out against the photos.

I always love sports photography and lacrosse gave me some awesome photo ops.

I must say it was not easy watching my "little guy" put on all the gear and get hit with "metal sticks".

He seemed to enjoy it a lot...even wearing all that equipment on 90 degree days, ugh!

I also added some acrylic stars, arrows and even a chipboard star to this mini...rub-ons totally pop in albums like this.

Thanks so much for stopping by...hope your having a great, stress free holiday season...if there is such a thing, lol!

Pebbles projects and a giveaway!

I was never blessed with cute little girls but I did get the next best thing...6 nieces! This little angel is the youngest of them and so darn sweet I can hardly stand it. I even think she may follow in her "Aunt Mimi's" footsteps, whenever I have my camera out she loves to help me take pictures.

The New Arrival Girl line is so pretty and worked so well with this photo of Adrienne.

Don't you just love those sweet felt embellishments!

In the spirit of the holidays I also made this bag to give a gift in. The Tree House line works amazing well for a full fledged holiday project...who knew?

You have to check out the Pebbles Blog for all the amazing holiday projects posted this week...fabulous! To top it all off starting tomorrow there will be a great giveaway so stop by and leave a comment for your chance to win a great prize!

Happy Birthday Nick and Scarlet Lime!

It is my son's 13th birthday today...yep, I am a Mom to a teenager! I just wanted to wish my handsome son Nick a very special 13th birthday...love you buddy!

I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving holiday...I don't know how it seems to go quicker each year...I think it just may be that I am growing older. I mean how is Christmas just a few weeks away. It seems like the kids just went back to school last week.

This year for the 2nd year in a row, we went to the 5K Turkey Bowl Race. It did not matter that it was snowing/raining/sleeting and so very cold. This was the first time my hubby and Jack ran a full 5K. This was also my first race in 5 years...granted I never run to win just the for the exercise. The boys did awesome! There were 435 runner in the adult race. Nick finished in 60th place with a time of 22:45. He did pretty well especially having just got the cast off his foot a few weeks ago and being "pretty out of shape" at least for him. Jack totally impressed us. He started the race with Josh and I and took off right away. He finished in 151st place with a time of 25:56...no one else anywhere near his age finished near him...we are so proud of him doing so well in his first big race.

Even Santa and the Thanksgiving turkey got in a run...sorry, my pictures are not great. I took my point and shoot, with the bad weather I was not risking my dSLR.

Now December over at Scarlet Lime is hopping with amazing new kits! Check out this months Main kit!

I love this kit! Then again I have not met a kit from Christy I have not loved, lol! This layout is of my aunts and uncles.

A few details...

This is my boys, their cousin, and aunt and uncle at the beach house. They all made matching tie dye t-shirts, how fun!

A few details...

Thanks so much for stopping by. I will be back later this week with a Pebbles project.

I hope you having a ton of fun with the Passionately Artistic Blog Hop!

I just love the Acrylic Sheets in the Want2Scrap store. I decided to make a sign to put in the foyer of my home welcoming our guest for the holiday.

One of my favorite parts of the holiday are the great traditions that go along with it...so many wonderful memories. Making toffee, cookie day, Christmas pj's, decorating the tree with our all handmade ornaments, but of course the best is seeing those friends and family I don't get to see much since they live far away...this little sign in our foyer will welcome them on those happy occasions.

Here are a few details from the goodies you can get at Want2Scrap...bling and ribbon are also available!

Be sure to leave a comment on each blog for a chance to win a prize. I will also be doing a RAK for one of my blog readers! I hope you are having a great holiday and continue to be inspired by all the creative people around you! Happy Holidays!!!!!

This is why pattern paper is my favorite product...

I love pattern paper! I can't get enough of it. I use it but I can also be a bit of a paper hoarder...saving that piece I love for just the perfect project. I know you all know what I mean. The Christmas Sleigh collection by GCD Studios is perfect for those fun bright Christmas pictures.

Last year we were in Disney near the holidays...it is a wonderful place all year round but especially gorgeous at Christmas time. Here is a layout I did showing off some of the Christmas sites.

This line made is so easy to do a layout without many embellishments. I simply made my own by cutting out these adorable trees from the Christmas Trees paper. I just added a pop dot for dimension. Then topped the trees off with a spot of Christmas Red Stickles. Done!

Buttons and trim and this layout has a great pop of color and dimension with out all the pricey embellishments. So next time you can't find the right embellishment in your stash...make your own with a piece of pattern paper!

Scarlet Lime's November Frugal Fab Kit!

Christy did it again this month creating such amazing kits this month at Scarlet Lime. Don't you just love this Frugal Fab kit!

These colors totally blew me away!

This is my sweet Jack on his first day of 4th grade.

Your gonna love all the embellishments in this kit!

I love the great packaging by Chatterbox here and had to use that cool striped border somewhere on my layout...yes, I do consider this recycling at its best!

For Nick's 6th grade field trip we went to Washington DC and had such a great day.

So many goodies to layer here...

Thanks so much for stopping by...I will be back soon with details from the main kit!

Holiday Gifts!

I like to make some of my own gift at the holidays. It is always nice to add a little homemade item to a store bought gift or gift card. I used the Joyful Peace line by GCD Studios for this notepad holder by Traditions Studio . My mom will love this sitting by her phone for notes.

This line has such a great vintage feel and looks great with black and white photos. I added a little pen with a flower tied on to the top to make it even better.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Happy Holidays!

Scarlet Lime Frugal Kit Layouts!

You have to love a kit that is this gorgeous but still under $20. I have been a fan of Scarlet Lime for OH, SO LONG...and I always love playing with them. This months Frugal Fab kit is delish! These pictures are of my son and niece taking turns giving each other piggy back rides. Ah, to be a kid again.

I love all the goodies in this kit, makes for some great details.

Fab colors too!

This is my oldest niece, she love her horse Alcapony! They do some amazing riding and jumping together.

A few more details...

I love these journaling stickers. It was a great way to change up my typical journaling.

Thanks so much for stopping by...I guarantee you will love Novembers kit just as much as this months!

Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker Projects!

The My Friend Birdie line is so dang cute! I went perfectly with these pictures of my nephew playing his first season of t-ball! I used a circle theme to enhance the ball idea...the added touch of the Burlap Buttons are just the right embellishment.

A few details...

I also decided to alter this cool tray by Traditions Studio using the Something for Everyone line. This will make a great Christmas gift, don't you think?

I love the black with these great papers, they just pop! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Fall Tags using the Chip Art Tool and a layout!

Heidi challenged the design team to make a fall and Halloween Chip Art tag set. As usual a good challenge always gets my juices flowing...pulling out my paint, stamps, and ink and getting my hand dirty! I always send a treat in for the kids teachers on Halloween and I think these will be perfect tied to a little bag of oatmeal raisin cookies.

I love the rich, earthy colors of fall. Look how great the GCD Chip Art Tool leaf imprints look on this background.

I'm going to admit one of my "dirty little scrapping secrets"...yes, it is true I can be an embellishment and paper hoarder, lol! I know I am not the only one...step up and admit it. We have all bought fab products, thinking they are just so cute and we are going to save them for just the perfect layout or card...a year later...they are still in our stash. Today I decided to dig into my stash and create.

For this layout I dug into GCD papers from several collections, as well as brads, transparencies, chipboard stickers, and even a border. Check them all out here.

I also pulled out a punch I had never used and it may now be my new favorite. I added a few other odds and ends and a great Etsy find from my supplies and went to town layering. The papers in my layout are simply layered. To create some depth and interest I began plopping down embellishments one on top of the other until I couldn't layer anymore.

It feels pretty good to have used so many supplies. Now I won't feel so bad the next time I head to the LSS and pick up that "must have item". Time to shop! Now it is your turn...dig into your stash and create some fun tags or a layout. You won't regret it...a little creative time is good for the soul! Thanks so much for stopping by!
